Issue #001ish - A New Platform
👋🏻 Hey there, remember this thing?
Welcome to Issue #001ish
Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I last wrote you. This email will do a few things but first of all if you forgot you were subscribed to my newsletter and would like to unsubscribe, feel free to do so.
For those of you sticking around, let me answer a few questions you might have.
“Wait, didn’t you have a newsletter before?”
Yes, yes, I did. However, none of the files I exported from Revue would upload properly to Substack, so those are lost to the void.
“Why are you no longer using Revue?”
Well, it seems that Mr. Musk - in his infinite wisdom - thought it needed shutting down. That’s okay, though! I’ve been curious about using Substack for a while, and this was the push I needed to get started.
“Okay, cool. So what is this newsletter about?”
I’m glad you asked! While I find it a challenge to stick to a specific cadence with writing, my goal is to send out 2 - 4 emails per month about things such as:
Productivity tips I’ve found/learned
Front-End Web Development tips/blogs
My Web Development journey
Recent projects
Things I found and liked/found interesting
…and more!
If you have any other questions feel free to respond to this email or comment via Substack. I’m still learning everything they offer, but I have been impressed so far. For those of you that have been in the Substack realm, are you using their mobile app? I’m curious, let me know via the poll below, and I’ll share the results in the next issue.
Before You Go…
Last year I worked on my annual goals one quarter at a time - I wanted to treat my personal development as more of a business than something I am doing for fun. I took the last week of each quarter off to reset and rekindle that desire for learning and such - and to help prevent burnout. During that week off, I also completed a review and reflection on that quarter.
It wasn’t something that had much structure, but I wanted to change that for 2023. With the help of a template in Craft that I manipulated for my own use, I present my Personal Quarterly Review Template. I’ve made it available in Craft and Notion via the buttons below if you are interested in doing this for yourself. Maybe it warrants a separate blog post to dive deeper on 🤔
